What is the process like to create a website with you?

Creating a site can be a pretty big task! We are committed to guiding you through the process and working with you to make sure you understand what is going on and where we are headed! For us, that starts before you even sign the contract!

Understanding Your Needs

Before we do everything, we want to understand what you are looking for - that means, we want to have a conversation with you and listen to what you want! We will likely ask you a few questions, perhaps make some suggestions, then we will get to work giving you one or more detailed proposals for your project.

Project Broken into tasks and all tracked in our client portal

If you end up accepting one of our Proposals, we will begin the work as soon as the contract and deposit (if applicable) is received. We will break your project into a variety of tasks and phases and all of those will be listed and tracked in our Client Portal! You will receive regular notifications as things progress, and you can login to track the progress! Rest assured, we would also be reaching out to you for input/approvals/etc. throughout the whole process!

Design Phase

The Design Phase is the first main phase of a website project, here we will send you some concepts (sometimes they might be rough sketches, other times rough sample sites). Please note these aren't the final "look" of the site, but it is for us to get an idea of what you like. As we get your feedback, the site design itself will come together. It is important that you give us as much detailed feedback as possible in a quick amount of time. It allows us to craft the design the way you want it faster! Because of the unknown amount of revisions and the undetermined time it takes to receive feedback from our Clients, we can't estimate how long the design phase will take. In some cases it is a week or two, for others it is longer. That is why detailed and timely feedback is crucial to making this phase successful in a reasonable amount of time!

Coding Phase

After the final design is approved (no more changes will be able to be made to the design without incurring an additional cost), we will enter into the coding phase. This is where we will be coding in any content management systems, building out the site and all its features/ functionality, etc. It is essential that we get any necessary site content (text/etc.) from you so that we can do this efficiently. Please have your content ready to go so we can implement it once we are ready! During this phase, the updates will be a little less frequent as much of the work done will be unseen until it is complete. Rest assured, we still are working on your project though! For most projects this takes 2-3 weeks after the final design approval.

Testing & Documentation Phase

Once the coding is complete, we will do some tests on our end, but we will also invite you to look at the finished site and test it out. We will make note of any bugs/issues and promptly work to correct those. During this time, we will also be creating any documentation (User Guides) for anything we don't already have compiled, so you will know how to update and use the features of your site! Once the site is deemed complete, we will "Go Live"!

Going Live!

This is the most exciting moment for both our Clients and us - we love having a project go live for the world to see! But just because it is live, doesn't mean we have abandoned you! You will get 14 days of bug fixes for anything you spot that needs correcting (this does not include design changes). Also, if we have not done so, we will schedule your free Remote Training and we will be featuring your site in our Client Spotlight and adding you to our Portfolio!

Ongoing Support

Just because the project is done, doesn't mean we aren't here to help you out. You will be able to log into your Client Portal to see User Guides and Videos to remember how to update your site. You are also always welcome to submit a "Support Ticket" so we can help you with any other questions/concerns. We want to make sure you are happy with your new site from beginning to end!
